One of the biggest challenges that dentists who attend the Dental Sleep Blueprint events encounter is being able to conduct an accurate analysis of what we offer.
The problem is that you’re forced to compare work you know with work you don’t know.
The work you know is the work you do every day in your practice.
The work you don’t know is the work that we do to build a successful sleep practice.
On the outside, what we do looks like “a lot of work.”
You start from scratch. You start with zero patients. In fact, you actually have to SPEND some money before you make any.
When you go back to the beginning of your career in dentistry and remember all of the work it takes to “get going,” it’s a no brainer that you’d have resistance to starting all over.
But this isn’t dentistry. So building a sleep practice from scratch (the way we do it) is completely different than starting your dental practice over from nothing.
The work we do is completely different. It’s not manual labor, it’s leveraged labor.
It’s a little bit like planning a trip to the moon.
If you know how to drive a Porsche already, then thinking about learning to drive a space shuttle seems like a lot of work.
But if you’re really serious about going to the moon, a Porsche just isn’t going to get you there.
We see potential members deal with this often.
They do the “due diligence” to decide whether or not to become a Restfull Member. But building up a sleep practice “seems” like a lot of work.
The only reason that’s the case is because it requires a completely different type of “work” than is normal for a dentist.
Fortunately, this work provides a much brighter future than the work most dentists do.
Most dentists are locked into the mind prison that getting more successful requires you do more work. But that’s dentistry work. That’s manual labor.
You have to give up that mind virus. You were taught to believe that, but it’s not true. And believing that your whole life leads to a terrible ending called BURN OUT.
Our path is about doing different work, leveraged work, that leads you to freedom, not burn out.
There’s no “right” answer here, it just comes down to what you want.
Do you want what most dentists get?
Or do you want more?
If you want more, come to an upcoming Blueprint event in Baltimore, MD (September,) Kansas City, MO (October,) or Austin, TX (November) and see what dental sleep medicine done right looks like.
